Health scientist Dr. h. c. Helmut Hildebrandt, CEO of OptiMedis AG, will give a keynote speech at the farewell ceremony for graduates of the Bachelor's degree course in Interprofessional Healthcare Online on December 13, 2025. Hildebrandt focuses on the development and management of integrated care and the further development of healthcare systems. In 2022, Hildebrandt was honored with the Pioneer Award 2022. The award recognizes outstanding personalities in the healthcare sector whose innovative ideas and projects set an example for improving the quality and productivity of care.

Mr Hildebrandt, you will be giving the keynote speech at the graduation ceremony for the now well-established and popular Interprofessional Healthcare online degree course. On Saturday, ASH Berlin will once again be graduating 30 Bachelor's graduates. What exactly is your message to the students and graduates of a degree program that focuses on collaboration and more networking among professionals?

The best and most stable collaboration between professionals is successful when the point of reference is the impact and benefit it generates for patients and society as a whole. Sustainable meaning is the best cohesion.

ASH Berlin is a SAGE university. SAGE stands for Social Work, Health, Education and Training in Childhood. Doesn't a too narrow view of the health professions fall short when it comes to calling for more cooperation? What would be your message here?

The genesis of health and illness is directly linked to our social environment, our background and how we deal with it. In this respect, all healthcare professionals are well advised to seek very broad cooperation. SAGE is already a good role model for this.

You have been organizing regional healthcare for years and stand for a change of perspective - towards local expertise. What is needed, what do you want from those who are socialized in traditional nursing and healthcare professions and want to help shape change?

Have the courage to throw your hat into the ring to lead this change. Taking responsibility is the best way to shape change in such a way that your values are also preserved.

Thank you very much, Mr. Hildebrandt, that is a template and motivation for the graduates and students!

The questions were asked by Prof. Dr. Heidi Höppner, Head of the Bachelor's degree course in Interprofessional Healthcare Online.
